Here is one very special call to me. Its a Scott Witter (Whole Grain Box Calls) in his new design. Scott has always been known for his smooth siders with his great artistic woodburning skills that adorned the calls he made. Well, ole Scott had broadened his horizons. For those of you that were in Nashville--Scott showed up with one in this stryle he entered in the Grand Nationals and he took a solid 4th place there. He had two others with him that went to new owners very fast. They were great players !!!!
I asked him in Nashville to make me one when I played one of them. I told him I wanted it numbered as they are his first in this new design. Ole Popcorn really surprised me. He emailed me saying he was sending me some wood to be on the lookout for it. The box arrived and I opened the letter first....it stated that I had actually got the # 1 call that was totally checkered., body as well as lid , and the fourth that he had made from starting.
This little gem is Mahogany under Walnut and the fit/finish in impeccable. But the most important part ---sound, let me take the liberty, it is simply awesome. This little call has all the range, from cranking and sharp cuts, to so so sublte soft talk, purrs great and excellent clucks, and gobbles like a champ.
Scott ....ya have a real winner in this new design and I cant thank you enough for the low number call that ya rewarded me with. Its great to see someone with the skills, drive and dedication you have with your work. I believe we will be seeing more of Mr Witters name on the NWTF board in Nashville and I am proud for you , and proud to call ya a friend....congrats on the great new design.
