hearing enhancements

My dads hearing is about gone and mine is gradually heading that way also! Does any of you all use walkers game ear or any other kind of hearing aid while hunting

I once had a pair of Walkers Game Ear Muffs years ago . They worked great but it was hard for me  to determine which direction the gobbles were from. I sold them. I now have hearing aids that I SHOULD wear all the time but I only wear them turkey hunting. They are awesome.

Same thing here, except I just got mine a couple weeks ago and have been wearing them fairly faithfully to get used to them. I just tried them on turkeys yesterday morning...worked great. Heard higher notes in both gobbles and hen yelps/clucks/putts not heard before. The volume was also louder.

Make sure whatever you use, it shuts down when LOUD noises happen.

I use them to protect my ears & to hear in the woods. It can be hard to determine direction sometimes. They are better then nothing at all, that is for sure. I got the custom plugs made for them at Cabelas, and that really helped out. Well worth the extra cash, like 10 times better protection. No fear of them coming loose either.

I could hear what I believed to be a dear coming last fall, but it never appeared in my shooting lanes. Took my game ears out & couldn't hear anything, put them back in, and that deer sounded like it was right in front of me instantly again!

I use the Pro Ears brand muffs and I have no problem telling what direction sound is coming from.

I use Game Ears and I do have some difficulty hearing direction. Sometimes I'm dead on on direction but, for the most part, I'm looking around as discretely as possible. My particular loss is genetic. One ear I've had surgery on and the other not. The one without surgery is very bad so any hearing aid will have limits as to how well it can correct.
One trick I use is to snap my fingers, left to right after I've put in the Game Ears and close my eyes at the same time. I can usually adjust in this way to get some idea of where the sound is coming from...
They're not perfect but they do wonders as far as hearing them. Direction, for me is a problem, but my loss is probably not typical either...
