What state would you look into for doing a DYI hunt and why?

Depends on what part of the state you want to hunt but NE. walk-in areas don't hold many birds. Have hunted around Chadron with success. NE. also has a generous bag limit. If you want Merriam turkey you have to be in the n.w. part of NE.

I have a couple good honey holes in NE and they do have some great public land or DIY land (res). Not sure if harvesting a hybrid is a big deal or not but I could point you in a great direction in NE. Shoot me a PM
