I'm looking for a new turkey gun for next year for a back up to my old Remington 870.  I had a few problems with it this year but I think I got it all figured out now.  Kind of looking at the semi-auto category and wanting to stay under the $1000 range.  I know some guys that have the Mossberg 935 and they really like them and also been suggested the Mossberg 930.  I'm open for all and any suggestions to what everybody likes, thanks in advance.

You get it for about $630.  Flat out turkey killer, everyone ( including myself) loves this gun, I haven't read a bad review yet.   12 or 20ga.....

The 930 is an excellent shotgun. I've had done for several years and shot several hundreds of shells through it, mostly 3" turkey loads. It has been totally reliable and shoot excellent patterns with a variety of shotshells. It's hard to beat.

The 935 is also an excellent shotgun. It's also very reliable and has the overbored barrel and 3.5" chamber, if that's important to you.

You would not go wrong with either. I'd just try to handle both and see which one feels best.

Thanks,
Clark

I really can't offer any advice other than to echo Clark's last sentence. Handle each gun you are interested in and see what feels best. Then make your choice.
To offer an example: A buddy of mine bought a 930 this spring and to be honest; you couldn't give me that thing. It feels like a fence post to me. It may be due to it having a wooden stock..I don't know. But, it really doesn't feel right to me.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I will have to look into the Weatherby line and the Franchi line.  How is the recoil on these guns.  Still open to anymore advice.  Hopefully soon I will be making a trip to a few sportsman stores that carry a lot of these so I can get a feel for them to see how they are.  Thanks again, anymore advice welcomed.

Drum,  If memory serves me correct you used to have a supernova right?   How does your Weatherby compare to it as far as patterning goes?   Is it easy to clean?  I have had a Supernova for the past 7 seasons and it's hammered a bunch of gobblers.   I was thinking of upgrading to the SBEII before next year because I want an autoloader and it's been such a good gun (barrel I think is the same as Supernova).  I like the price of the Weatherby.  Just curious.  Thanks!

Im looking at the weatherby sa08 in 26" bbl. for a duck, turkey gun. It handles really nice and light and the price is really tempting.

Is that price for a camo version and if so, where might I find it?

no picture uploaded yet. but be sure you use this part number and not the older (2014) model part number... as it is still for sale as well.
