Sad to see it end.

Today was the last day I could hunt this season. I was hunting out of state. I worked a tough gobbler 6 hours yesterday and had him come in just out of gun range. Today I had him in range just over the crest of a rise gobbling like mad but he wouldn't pop up over. I had a wonderful season full of memories and filled some tags. I go through this every season at its end. I just hate to see it end. Six months till fall turkey.

This weekend will finish me up. I hate to see it end, but I'll only have a hair over 3 months until bowhunting elk starts.

I can't pull the trigger anymore this spring, but I'll keep hunting with family or friends until the season ends on May 31. I can't get enough of spring turkey hunting.

Only two months 'till August 1st and the opening of tree squirrel season here in Southern Illinois. Probably my favorite animal to hunts because there's always some shooting. To my knowledge, no young person hunts tree squirrels which means that the woods are mine! Fall turkey season comes in October 1st with the deer bow season for hens/gobblers with a gun season for any turkey at the end of the month. Somehow, I just can't get excited about hunting turkeys in the fall like I do for the spring. To each his own, I suppose.

My season has been over for about 3 weeks and I'm missing it bad. The worst (or best) part is I've bought 3 new calls since the season ended. 2016 spring better hurry or I'll be broke.

Yeah it is depressing but its not to early to plan for next year. I got plans to hunt West Virginia or Virginia next season, love them mountains.

Our season ended yesterday and although I was lucky enough to finish on a high note (18 lbs./3/4"/9" and a responsive one), I feel like I lost a friend
We have a fall season but like a previous poster said, it's not the same as Spring.
Hate to wish my life away but man, I wish it was Spring 2016!

I feel like in a recovering alcoholic and I have one more hunt left in me. Suppose it will have to wait till next spring. Smallmouths will have to suffice in the mean time.
Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.
