I have made it out four times so far and have called in a tom each time. Been calling for someone else mostly. Shame we can't score those!
The timing for me is the Fall, Winter and late Winter seasons here in VA. I just get my kicks on fall/winter hunting.
True we get a few hens in the fall. Our biologist seem to think we need to take more. So for our three bird limit in VA I might not get a single point. (We can take two in the fall/winter and one in the spring.) I'll have one to score in a few days!
