SC has one less bird

Set up on this bird this morning that has been hanging around my property for a few days now. Put a picture I took up of him strutting behind my pond the day before the season opened. Heard him gobble 5-6 times but immediately went quiet after fly down.
Fast forward to 1 o'clock and I was back in the woods and a hen got him killed. She walked right out of the middle of the field and straight to the wood line where I was set up. A few slate calls and leaf scratching had him strutting right behind her. Been after him for 3 days and it happened in 10 minutes. Guess that's turkey hunting. Seen a lot of pics on here of dead birds. Good job guys and stay safe!

Thanks guys. The field behind me is where the bird was shot. As I am typing this there is the same jake and 2 hens that were with him when I shot him. How short can a turkeys memory be???

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
