is there any manufactures that make a choke tighter than .674 in a invector plus

Yes. The Browning/Winchester engineers recommend their Full Strut Turkey Choke with a .640 exit diameter http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/accessories/detail.asp?fid=003J&cid=113&tid=38773 and I shoot the SSX with a .643 exit diameter http://allaboutshooting.com/product_info.php?cPath=78&products_id=81

The JEB's .650 is also available for the Invector+ http://allaboutshooting.com/product_info.php?cPath=98&products_id=345 and does a great job.

Those chokes are designed differently, have quite different "internals" but all 3 work very well in all of my Invector+ barrelled shotguns.

Thanks,
Clark

Tons of options out there in the .665-.675 range. I am toying with a Star Dot that measures .670 and really impressed.

really that tight for a 3 1/2" maxus

At the SHOT show a few years ago, I spent a good bit of the Media Day at the Range with the design engineer for that gun. We shot a pre-production model with a variety of shells through that gun and I was able to pick his brain about a number its features, as well as those of other Invector+ barrelled guns that he had designed for Browning/Winchester.

If you think of the Invector+ barrel with a .742 inside diameter in the same way we think of a Mossberg 835 barrel with a .775 inside diameter, it makes a lot of sense. We routinely shoot .670 exit diameter chokes through the 835 giving us .105" of constriction. When we shoot a .640 exit diameter choke through an Invector+barrel we have .102" of constriction or slightly less than with the Mossberg.

The chokes that did best in my recent evaluation of WLB shells with the Invector+ barrels, had exit diameters of between .643 and .655. The JEB's .650 was best with 209, second was Ballistic Specialties .655 with 203 the SSX .643 had 199, Writhg's .650 had 185 and Indian Creek .655 had 172. None had any 2" or more gaps in them.

There was some shifting of the order of the finishers with the Hevi-13 shells in the next evaluation (still working on getting that published) but again, none had any 2" or larger gaps. I'll put a link that evaluation as soon as it's completed.

I hope that helps some.

Thanks,
Clark
