Good hawk call
March 11, 2015, 09:56:43 AM
I've been looking for a good hawk call. I have several owl hooters and crow calls, no hawk.
Any suggestions? Custom call makers or production calls, makes no difference.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike.

Mike, there are several to choose from, an old P.S. Olt call works great, you can pick one up on the Bay.

Thanks for the info Pappy. I believe I had a old Ps Olt owl hooter when I was a kid. I'll be on the
lookout. Trying to find a good late morning, afternoon locator besides my crow call. Just a little different sound since I occasionally have others hunt the same properties I hunt.
Thanks for your help, Mike.

All of our Crow Calls over at Buckner Custom Calls also double as hawk calls. We offer a money back guarantee so if you are interested let me know or head over to our website and try one out.

how do they double as a hawk caller? Would you change the reed or the position of the reed?

You blow through the side of the mouthpieces instead of through them.

Most all calls will do it. Our calls tend to have a dominate side. I mark it in case i want to use it in the field.

Yep, one side is almost always better than the other. I mark mine as well.

My Hooks synthetic crow call sounds pretty dang good. Like mgbuck34 said, one side is always better than the other.
