Took advantage of the youth weekend here in GA and got my little boy and my self in the woods early this morning. We didn't hear any gobbling at all and gobbling reports in the area have been pretty poor. We decided to set up near a swamp that have been having a lot of turkey sign. Set up and called every now and again but had no luck. We were entertained for a while by 2 owls that carried on for several minutes around us. I always love to hear those owls get fired up. Regular season opens here next saturday but I likely won't carry a gun until sometime that next week after season opens. Trying hard to get my boy a bird.
