I was at Cabelas this weekend, and when looking at the Avian and DSD decoys, I noted that the new 2015 DSD turkey decoys looked different the 2013 models I owned. Has anyone else observed this? More texture to the features & the paint looked different to me too. I didn't have my 2013s to compare side by side, so I was hoping someone here might have both versions to compare side by side??

I am going to bag my first Turkey this spring if it is the last thing I do!

I know the strutters look a lot different color wise, assume the others too. I like the older coloring on the Strutter more, except the flocking that's nice.

I have an older model upright and newer model feeder. I see no difference and while hunting I often confuse them with real hens.
DSD is quality made in the USA

I don't know if the hens changed much, but the jake and strutter got flocking on the back and a more bronze colored paint starting in 2014.  The older ones had more of a silver sheen, the newer ones have more of a copper sheen to them.

This is what I noted on all the 2015  models at Cabelas, not flocking on the hens, but there was much more texture to my eye and feel of the when I handled them. The paint was very different to my eye as well. Wonder if this is just really new, like some of the newest versions out there?

As for the paint, it looked like a much darker theme of paint on the hens VS previous years. I put the Avian and DSD hens right next to each other & I amazed how close the paint looked.
