At the camp

Well it's 4am and I'm sitting at the camp. I'm the first one here. That was my plan because we have 1200 acres and 13 turkey hunters. You have to sign in. First Come first serve. Everyone has been complaining about the number of hunters for the size of the property. I hate it but haven't said anything. Just knew I needed to be up and out of the house by 3am where I could have pick of the place. Rest of the guys will be pulling up shortly. My plan worked out so far. Cost me some sleep but well worth it. To everyone going this morning , good luck and be safe.

I ended up calling up 2 jakes. One actually had a good gobble. Let them walk and throughout the morning ended up calling them back 2 more times. Once they got as close as about 10 steps. It was a fun morning. Maybe tomorrow a long beard will show up. It was dreary and misting rain all morning. Didn't see or hear anything else. The other guys heard a total of 5 birds between them. Hit the ground and didn't say another word. That's to be expected. A couple more weeks and they may start to get a little lonely.
