Looking for a high quality striker for any surface. Mainly for soft tree yelps and purrs first thing in morning. Any ideas?

Look in the pot calls forum under turkey calls. You should find all the info you need.

Talk to any of the makers from here that specialize in strikers and ask their opinion. They'll steer you in the right direction.

I found one on eBay. It's made by tylersburg yelpers and its called the ugly stick. I've found it to be quite good. Requires a bit of finishing on the end of the striker but once it's tuned, it's tuned.

I know the striker that comes with jimmy schaffers tear drop call is a tight grain hickory that is flat. It makes the most realistic soft talk I have ever heard.
