Finally had a relatively calm day here for a change. Grabbed my Beretta 303 with Jellyhead choke (.655) and a box of 12 ga. 3" Longbeard 6's and headed to the range. At 20 yards 98% of the pattern was inside 10". Then I shot at 30 yards and it was still very tight with about 85 - 90% inside 10". My final shot was at 40 yards and I counted 154 hits in the 10" circle with a definite vertical oblong shape to the pattern. In this choke I didn't feel it did appreciably better than my Winchester Double X 6's.
I've been shooting a Bansner Truglo TG155 (.665) the last two years with Hevi-13 7's with great results. I put this choke back in the 303 and shot a pattern at 40 yards. It seems this choke does well with the Longbeard 6's as well as the hevi-13 7's. The pellet count inside the 10" circle was 194. Excellent pattern for lead shot IMO. May even hunt with lead this year for a change.
