Today I was bored so I made a 3 corncob striker's.  I don't have a lathe but wanted to give it a try. First one was a carbon arrow, the second was 1/4 oak dowl, and the third was an acrylic stick. They sound OK, each one very different. Any feedback on what I should do different.

You might post some pictures.   We like pictures.  You have 3 good ones and those 3 should serve you well next spring.

Here is a picture. I haven't glued them in yet incase I need to make some modifications.

Try sliding the striker shafts into the cob a little farther and see what it does for your sound. You may find you have to try it a few times but it will help tune the striker. Do it for each one.

They look good to me.  Glue em up and good luck with them next spring.  Nothing quite like hunting with something you made.
You can always make more if those don't turn out to be quite what you were looking for and you will make more.  :TooFunny:
Welcome to the addiction of call making.

Thank you. I will play around with them a bit and glue them up.

I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with them the way they are but doing what I said will help change the tone and pitch that you'll get from the call while using your strikers. Just my thoughts.
