Im setting a Mossberg 20ga youth model, it's got a 24" vent rib.
Im gonna shoot a 3" shell but which choke and shell combo.
I have a Primos Tite-Wad is that a good place to start or should I go with a Sumtoy and Hevi?
Thanks!

try the tightwad before you do anything else
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I hear good things about the tight wad in these little guns, try some heavy 13 6 or 7... I'm shooting a tru glo gobble stopper and mag blends in a mossberg super bantam and it throws a nice pattern

I have a model 500 20 gauge with a tight wad and shoot federal hwt #7 and I think it averages 115-120 in a 10" at 40 yards but a nice even pattern. I bought a IC .555 last week and gonna try the h13 #7 as soon as it warms up.

I'm gonna say something that may not be traditional advice. You mentioned a youth gun so I'm guessing it's for a youth. The choke should depend on several things.
One does the youth shoot well? Can they shoot under stress? Can they shoot a really tight choke under the stress of not wanting to miss, blow a chance or let dad down?
My daughters have both shot turkeys, one by age ten the other 13.
The older one shoots well and had more experience. She shoots a turkey choke. The younger one shoots pretty well too but being she's so new to hunting itself I keep her shots under 30 yards, often 20-25.
Now a mod choke w the right shot (smaller size) fits that bill. I'd rather work a bird closer or have her pass a long shot than have a super tight pattern cause a miss at close range.
Remember there's lots going on for a kid, no matter the experience.
I teach Hunter Ed n hear tons of guys mention kids that shot real well blow easy shots.  Something to think about

Assault

On my daughters 510's I have them shooting a bass pro turkey choke with Remington Long range #6.... Not a real tight pattern, but good for close shots
