I've been hunting turkeys for 14 years.  Right now I've got the worst case of turkey fever I've had since my early days!  I think it's largely due to me updating my equipment after many years of no or minor purchases.  It's also due to picking this stuff up here and there since last spring, keeping turkey hunting top of mind and making it feel like I've been waiting for ever!

New toys

  • Dakota X-treme Jake
  • Avian-X Feeder Hen
  • Vortex Solo Monocular 10x36
  • GoPro Hero4 Silver
  • Burris Fastfire III with protector mount (on way)

Still to go

  • Sumtoy Choke (likely order tomorrow)
  • 2 Good Strikers

2.5 months and counting... :begging:

Sounds like you're going to be ready to roll.  I ordered a couple hooks mouth calls yesterday.

I know it's close when I get those in the mail.

I have been ready also, but the winter still says no. Don't tell anybody but I got so excited I started a week early about 3 years ago. An honest but stupid mistake, I felt like a real dummy and sure was proud I didn't shoot a bird or meet up with the local warden. I don't think I could have talked myself out of that one.  :funnyturkey:

Maybe I shouldn't ever hunt alone again, it would really be bad if two idiots both got the opening date wrong. I was just a little surprised my next door neighbor sons wasn't around that morning. But we all know why. DUMMY

Now just wait til the florida guys start posting kill pics while alot of us are a month or so away from the REAL season opener and still looking at the snow. That really wants to get you going.

:turkey2: I got it bad too. My soon to be 8 year old daughter announced that WE were going turkey hunting this year. So, I bought a blind, new decoys(great deals in Cabelas bargain cane on Dirty B and Killer B, $93 for both) got her and I stools and some camo for her. I am excited but a little worried. We have had 77" of snow here in my town in Maine. I hope the turkeys around here have periscopes and know of a good snack bar. Good luck everyone. Al Baker
