removing soundboards?

do you guys have a good method for removing soundboards? have several pots i'm not happy with and would like to reuse the soundboard and playing surface. thanks ted

I used a heat gun to remove an aluminum surface I wasn't happy with.  I think the trick would be to heat the surface enough to weaken the glue but not enough to crack the wood.  Depending on which glue you used it should "melt" or become soft at ~ 150 degrees or so.  I did not have to use the heat gun for more than 30 seconds to remove the soundboard that was glued with plumber's goop.  Good Luck.

I've used the microwave in a pinch.  Just ran it for 15 seconds at a time.  Then check it after each time.  Don't do it with metal in the call though.  Oh yeah, don't do it while the wife is around either.
