Cypress scratch box

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has and uses one of these. I bought one of these years ago from a preacher in Florida, but have not had much luck with it. Maybe it's me, but I was curious to see if any one here likes this particular wood? Thanks !

I have made several scratch boxes, as well as box calls, out of cypress and they can sound great. I love using it.  The cypress needs to have very tight grain or the sound is too deep. I prefer to use heart cypress when I can get it because it is more dense. Being from Florida I sell a bunch of cypress scratch boxes and box calls.
