Choke for silver hunter

Well I gave it a good cleaning and I gave it another go
minor improvement. So I ordered my indian creek this a.m.
along with some hevi blend that you guys were talking about on prairie wings.
I talked to I c and thet recommened a 665 with the blend .
He said if that didnt work he would replace it with a 675.
So now its wait time. I want to thank you guys for the info. About cleaning.
I feel good about what I got coming then I can start making arrangments
to hopefully go out west next year.

Good luck to you. I'm glad to hear that you saw some improvement in you patterns. It's the very first thing that I recommend to all of my readers, rather than spend more money on another turkey choke. That may be all that's needed and since I really understand, as you do, the value of a dollar, it just makes sense to do that.

Frankly, even if you gain 20 or 30 pellets in a 10" circle, is it worth it to spend $70.00 or $80.00 for that? I'm sure you like most hunters and shooters would agree that it does not. It's really all about what works to cleanly kill a turkey at a reasonable range of 40 yards.

I really appreciate your feedback and letting us know about your experiences.

From I.c. Thet sent  a 665 I got some hevi blend
They shot 85 at 40 made me sick I got a box of win. L.b. 6's
I.c. Choke 105 I put the fullstrut choke in there that came with gun

Try a Pure Gold 660. My 24" silver loved it.

The 28" barrel loved a Pure Gold 675.

I appreciate the update. That is an excellent turkey choke and since you already had it, that also saved you some money. It's an expensive choke tube, well made and the .640 exit diameter is what the engineers at Browning recommend for that gun.

The over bored Browning barrels are .742 so the .640 represents .102 of constriction. That's very similar to the .105 constriction when you use a .670 choke in a Mossberg 835/935 with a bore of .775.
