"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth" John 1: 14
Lots of people love to go camping, hiking, etc in tents and RVs. As they are tourists, their experiences while camping are temporary.
When the Israelites left Egypt, they lived as nomads, tenting from place to place for years. Meanwhile, the presence of God went with them in the tabernacle -a tent that was a portable temple. This Old Testament tabernacle served to point to the coming Messiah, Jesus. When Jesus became a man, He made His dwelling among us; that is, He tented -or "tabernacled- among us."
The Gospel of St. John reveals many highlights of Jesus' work. He is the presence of God dwelling in the human person of Jesus. He performed many miraculous signs. St. John said of these signs, "These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:31).
The Son of God, didn't become human to live with us as a tourist. He tented among us in our human flesh to bear our sin and be our Savior in order to forgive of all our sins and be our Redeemer. God did this so that He could secure eternal life for all who believe.
He dwelled with mankind in human flesh so that He could be your eternal dwelling place, dear friend.
Place your faith completely in Jesus of Nazareth, for He is your royal Redeemer and your eternal tent!
