Thats the only advantage i could see, to adjust you poi. I have tru glo fiber optic sights on mine. Dont have to worry about anything other than point and shoot.

Red dot fan here.  I like having the better field of view and precision adjustments.

Keep it simple. Bead man myself if POI is good. Sight if I need adjustments

Longshanks

POI problems and super tight patterns I use them. Two guns with Red Dots, two with tru glo adjustable and two with beads.

I have an Aimpoint 9000SC red dot scope on both my Mossberg 835 and Benelli SBE 2. Wouldn't hunt without them. Also they work great for predator hunting at night.

I used a bead for years & never thought of using anything else.  Then I got old & my eyes wouldn't focus up close and I begin shooting tighter patterns.  Now I use a red dot & don't plan on ever going back.  If you gonna shoot those tight patterns I think a red dot or scope is a must because you can have that dot or crosshair right in the center of your pattern & be more precise with your shot.  Also if your gun is shooting left or right or whatever a red dot will solve that too. Personally I like the reflex type red dots more because I think it gives you a better field of view resulting in a faster followup shot if needed.  The only way to find out is to try one.  I'm personally using the Truglo Tru-Brite at this time.  I have one on 2 different turkey guns & for the money I don't think there is a better sight.  Best of luck with whatever you choose.

I use the Bushnell Red Dot on my 835 for several reasons: 1. POA/POI issues  2. I like the 3 MOA dot for the tight pattern she throws  3.  It makes me concentrate on the close shots, when my pattern is the size of a baseball (aim small / miss small)   Disadvantages: 1.  You need to be anal, to be sure you turn it on when you get set up and leave it on but you have to make sure you turn it off at the end of the hunt and/or carry a spare battery.  I'm glad I got mine!

I hate to admit that my eyesight isn't the same as it used to be, so I will be switching to an FFIII for next year...thanks to a couple of misses this year.  :(

I'd love to have a red dot of some sort on mine.  But they are blurry to my right eye.  So I go without, or learn to shoot southpaw.
