We hunted Saturday in the rain and by 10:30am he was wet and chilly and wanted to call it a day. We saw a few gobblers that were henned up on a field edge and formulated a plan for Sunday morning. We set a ground blind in the dark and 45 minutes later after they flewdown a few clucks and purrs later a hen trolled a nice long beard past the blind and he made a nice shot on a 21.5", 9 1/4", 3/4" spurs gobbler. After I looked at the picture I noticed you can see the blue hood of his sweatshirt and immediately this became a lesson. I showed him how he could be mistaken for a turkey and in the future to never wear red, white or blue while hunting turkeys. I picked him up in the dark and truthfully never noticed it. We were on private ground with exclusive permission in a ground blind so thankfully we were safe all things considered.
