Hello guys I have a question, I shot my 1187 greenleaf  21 inch barrell today with a .665 sumtoy and got a nice even pattern of 149. It was 40 degrees and chilly and at a lasered 40 yards. I got a nice even pattern of 152 in a 20 inch. I definitly had the most dense in a 10 inch. I just wanted to see if you guys think this is a good hunting pattern? I noticed that the blends shoot different about each time. I have gotten 178-200 before todays temp may have effected it. Any info appreicated. Thanks!   Some blends don't seem real tight? I also got aroundthe same with an ic bds .665

I have the same gun and I shoot Mag Blends also. I get over 200 pretty consistent using a Rhino .660. I have heard that weather makes a difference but I have never shot when it was below 60 so I have no experience on how much you will gain in warmer weather. Sounds like you are ready and that is a real good hunting pattern, people been killin them with a lot less in the 10" for years!

Good Luck

Those temps WILL affect your pattern. IIRC, it will be too tight at those temps and your pattern should have some holes in it if its overconstricted. 150ish is certainly respectable and you shouldnt have any problems killing with it. Id be willing to bet your numbers will go up quite a bit if you shoot again with it above 60 deg. Ive killed em with guns shooting way less than that though. Keep your shots to 40 or less and go kill some birds!

Give that barrel a good deep cleaning and polishing and bet your pattern numbers would go up, you might try a different choke but the  numbers you have will kill turkeys all day long out to 40 yards.

Thanks guys the indian creek did have some holes  is this due to the cold temps?  Like I said I did shootthe other day when it was a little warmer and got  175-200  I wouldn't think its over choked at .665 do you?

Grunt-N-Gobble

NO..... It isn't over choked @ .665  Actually, you could probably go a little tighter if you wanted to, but you'll kill turkeys all day long with those numbers.

if I can get 90-100 pellets or over,I 'll take it hunting in a minute.
it's not the harvest,it's the chase
