One down in VA....finally
April 19, 2014, 07:34:23 AM
What a beautiful, cool, calm, and quiet morning or gracious Lord and Father has provided for us today. And he topped it all off by blessing me with the presence of one of his glorious wild turkeys.
So, after coming off a slow start this season, I finally got it done this morning.
Did a few different fly downs followed by some soft calling and he came in on a shoestring to my DSD jake.
My SBE II with magblends dropped him in his tracks and my two brand new new David Halloran calls certainly proved their worth this morning.
I will come back and add specs after I get home and get a tape measure out.

Yes sir, congrats. Love them David Halloran pots, don't go to the woods without them.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Here is the video I took with my new GoPro. Wish I had taken my larger camera or put the dekes closer.
He would not come out of strut and I did not want to shoot my decoy. As soon as his hopped on the deke and dropped his tail, I let the SBEII do what it gets paid to do....
Was very glad to not put any holes in the DSD jake of the submissive hen in front of it.
