To all of you that are taking kids out for Kentucky youth season this weekend, good luck to you and to the kids. I'll be in the woods with my girls as usual. Enjoy and stay safe.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Good luck!  Iowa youth season starts this weekend as well! I'll be out there with my little cousin.

Thanks good luck to you all also. Ill be taking my stepson, he killed his first bird on the last day of season last year, so he is ready to try them again.

Why shoot a 3.5"? Because they don't make a 4".

Of course, I mean good luck to ALL youth who are in the woods this weekend. Good luck to everyone this spring for that matter. My 11 yr old daughter Mekayla, was fortunate enough to kill a dandy bird this evening in Kentucky with a muzzleloading shotgun. 20.8 lbs- 8 3/4 beard-1inch spurs. It was her 13th longbeard. I'm awful proud of her. I'll try to post pics later if I can learn how. It was a great hunt at the end of a long day. It may be asking too much for her little sister to get a crack at one tomorrow but we are gonna get after em. I may loose the REST of my hair tomorrow.
