Stoeger 3500 factory choke test
April 01, 2014, 05:00:01 PM
I just got this gun about a month ago, tried a few different loads, all shot from taped 40 yds., all #5 shot. Factory choke, .660
1. Turkey Thugs, 3", had 61 in 10" circle.
2. Winchester Double X, 3 1/2", had 67 in 10"
3. Long Beard, 3 1/2", 166 in 10"
Waiting on a Jelly Head to arrive to try out.

I shot mine last year with factory choke in pattern testing and had about same results as your first two loads.
Since we didn't have Longbeards last year I didn't try them obviously.
This spring my Jellyhead did 276 in 10" at 40 yds with 3 1/2" Longbeard # 6's. (in my Stoeger 3500 24" barrel)

I have the 28" bbl., I'm hoping to get a tighter pattern w/ the other loads, since the LB's are hard to find. I did find a box of LB 6's today. I hope I get about the same results you did.
