I really need some suggestions on my gun. I know a few of you folks have experience with this gun with a few REALLY dialed in. I have had it for about 6 years now and use it both during waterfowl season and turkey hunting. It has definitely seen some rounds over the past years as well and being sunk in the swamp (twice), rained on continuously numerous times, dropped in the mud boat etc.

I bought the gun with the thinking it was to be used as my go too. It has never failed, and worked flawlessly ever since I owned her.

Yet the dura touch finish is failing pretty badly now. Frankly this stuff was sticky since day one. Now sure if a slight bit of bug dope got on her on not. I also have never been able to access the trigger area to clean, so it is likely a bit messy.

I am thinking about doing the following:
•   Open up gun and clean all parts, anything rusted needs to be replaced. I have not been able to access the trigger area as it is enclosed.
•   Refinish the camo on the gun (there are currently rubber portions on the stock, they are fine but likely have to be removed for dipping, can they be replaced or reinstalled?)
•   Add some uncle mike swivels so I can put a real strap on it.

Any other suggestions are welcomed. I am done for the season a looking for suggestions who can help do this work. I have already traded a few emails with Rob Roberts, but open to suggestions.

I don't know if I can answer your specific questions but I do have some observations.    I don't like browning finishes.  I think they aren't as durable.as others I have had.  My Benelli could be dragged thru gravel.and look the same.  The duratouch on my new maxus is ok so far, but I don't have the confidence in the overall finish like I did on my Benelli, remington or beretta camo guns.  So, having said that I would probably fix the rib, definitely ad a sling and clean the internals, and eventually get the gun refinished in somethin you really like.  I personally would probably send it to black dove and have it cerakoted for a real durable finish.  Check out some of his work from pics on this site.  I have often thought of using an over under for turkey hunting and  one day may customize one of mine for a dedicated Turkey killer.  Hope this helps you...Crusty.

I've been looking at a Cynergy for a while and the question I have is how consistent is the poa between the two barrels?

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Hey, just Curious on what chokes/ shells your shooting out of your cynergy?

Ross R

He's got an Indian creek in the top and a Briley in the bottom barrel. I am pretty sure he is shooting hevi 6's.

Thanks!! I got an 26in, bottom barrel shoots dead on, but the top is about 8in high! Shooting Kick's .680 in both barrels!!! Great gun, just besides the top barrel shooting high!!! I've been seeing lately how other people are shoot different choke tubes out of it, might have to try myself to see if I can bring that pattern down!!!
