I had mentioned this in another thread but I was wondering if anyone that has the Speedbead on their SBE2 has had any trouble putting theirs on their gun? I ordered my mount separate from my FF3 and when I got my mount, the pins didn't really line up with my stock and receiver.  The pins were close but still wouldn't go.  The model number was correct on the package and it said SBE 2 on it also. I spent about 30 mins trying to get them to line up but the roll pins still seemed to be a few thousandths away from lining up. I sent the mount back for a refund but I haven't ordered another one yet. I am hoping the one I had was just defective.  So has anyone else had trouble with this on their SBE 2 or other models? Thanks

Yep check out my post in the general forum about Burris customer service!! I just got mine and same problem as you!! We definitly have the right one. I called Burris and talked to 3 people 2 of them stated that you pretty much have to force it on! They weren't helpful at all and said it will be 4-6 weeks to fix it replace it. The tech told me that it takes him about 1 hour to install them, and he got the right tools. I called a very good gunsmith and he said to put the speed bead on the stock and then tighten the stock down , doing this will compress them together. I sent mine back and mounted a weaver 93 on it and it works super!!!! Good luck

Dang I was hoping it was just mine. Which weaver base did you use and did you have to do anything special to make it fit?

Rem Man

Weaver 93, I know they say 93a but the 93 works great and the screws are perfect size! The only thin is it only had 2 slots which works, but I took a file and made another slot. It took about 15 minutes and works.  The mount was 9.00 and the height of the weaver combined with the factory stock and fastfire iii lines up perfect. The speed bead works I am sure but for 80.00 I am not beating this mount on an 1,800 gun!!!! Good luck

Did the original slots not work on the base? Or did you just not like where the sight sat in the original ones?

Rem Man

Sure they will work, but with either slot the sight hung over a little. I made a new one so it sits flush.

Weaver also makes a multi slot "tactical" base in the 93 pattern. They fit the sbe2, vinci, and m2. they are about $15. I ran one on my vinci last year until I went with the ff3/336 marlin setup. Warne also makes a 1 and 2 piece maxima style base that are nice.

It took just a slight bit of modification and some time but mine went on just fine in about an hour or so.
