I've used a bushnell trophy circle-x, leupold NWTF and a Simmons pro-diamond. All do the job great . I'd recommend the Simmons for compact size and longer eye relief. Is also a great price.

I've since convert my rigs to include 3 fastfires and a bushnell trs25.

I've got a tru glo scope on mine. I'm very happy with it so far.

Why don't you like the Red dots?  Have you ever tried one?  I put a Bushnell Trophy Red dot (about $60)on my 835 many years ago and LOVE it (had a POA/POI issue).  It's been to 4 different states on planes and in trucks and no issues.  Once you get it sighted in, where you put the dot is where the round goes, you don't have to have it centered.  I shot a bird this year where I actually had the gun turned 90 degrees, put the dot on his head and he went down in a pile.  Great scope for the money.  Give them a look.

Not a red dot fan either, have tried them. I have a Simmons Pro-Diamond on my gun and am very happy with it.

Scoped my gun 2 years ago and haven't had any issues, I use a Simmons Pro-Diamond also.  I tried a red dot first but didn't like the idea of a battery going dead or me forgetting to turn it on.

They don't make it now but you can get lucky and find them on ebay. I have a 2x7 nwtf ive been hanging on to for some time. If I was shopping for a quality turkey scope and didn't want a red dot, I'd get a matte black 1.5 x 4 leupold vx1 with a heavy duplex reticle or if you prefer, a turkey plex reticle.

I had several friends that had scopes on they're turkey guns. I thought they were crazy until I put one on my gun 10 plus years ago.  I wouldn't have anything else since doing so many years ago. I like a slight magnification that red dots don't offer. My first scope was a Simmons pro diamond fixed four power which is still around but I no longer use. I like to hunt with 2-3 power for a slight magnifacation and more field of view. I have a camo Nikon shotgun scope with a regular duplex reticle that is 2X7 power on one gun and a leupold vx 1 with the turkey reticle on another.  I like both of these and would not hesitate to buy another Simmons, but it would be the one with variable power.

Here's some food for thought.

Red Dot gives same view as if you had no scope on your gun. Other words if the turkey is 30 yds. looking through the red dot he is 30 yds., on the other hand using a powered scope, set on 2x, that turkey now looks twice as close, but he still is 30 yds.  Remember, it doesn't matter where the dot shows in the scope, with the dot on the turkey he's dead, no centering the scope on the turkey.

Two of my guns I have scopes mounted and the third one I have a Bushnell red dot. I like all three but the two with the scopes are my go to guns...one has a nikon turkey pro another has a Simmons pro diamond.  All my scope guns have the saddle mounts were u can still see your iron bead. My third gun has a rail mounted to the receive with the red dot...I've killed turkeys with all three of these guns. You cant go wrong with either setup
