thats a new one that i have not heard before. you can pick up a can of flat black or olive drab and touch it up. just fill the inside of the choke with a paper towel or something . and do not paint the threads. if you do get some paint inside it should be gone after one or two loads .

Use the Shooter's Choice on the inside of the choke.

over the years i have had Shooters Choice inside and out of chokes ,barrels and stocks. it has never in the past 8 to 10 years removed or dis colored the finish of any of my rifles or shotguns. is this one of IC's stainless steel chokes??

I would maybe call them again and inform them that something is happening to your choke when you clean it.. May save them a bunch of money

Look at your choke where it has the constriction stamped on is and see if it has an SS next to the number.  I don't think there is a good method for blackening stainless.  Smith and Wesson experimented with blackened stainless revolvers for a while and gave up because the blackening was not very durable.
