Whats the general consensus on hole size for the bottom of your pot calls?  And does anyone drill holes on the side?

Small or few holes not as much volume as more or bigger holes I use 3/8

The more holes the more volume the call will let out I use 5/16 or 3/8 just depending on the call surface and the type of wood I use.

See a lot of 3/8" holes for the ports used in pots. Equally spaced around the perimeter, with one in the center. I use several port designs, I prefer four 3/8" and four 1/2" drilled equally spaced opposite each other. Of course this is for the dual purpose pots I make, as there is also a 1-1/2" hole in the center which acts as an access hole for the secondary striking surface.

On my chew can calls ive been using three 3/8" holes. Seems to work good. One in the center and two out to the side of it.
