I've been considering adding a 20ga to the turkey thumper family for a few years now and finally pulled the trigger on one.  Here she is... a Rem 11-87 Sportsmans with a 21" barrel.  I think it's the youth model which is what I would prefer  but can anybody tell for sure from the photos?  I measure the LOP and it seems to be right there around 12 to 13 inches.  I thought the rear stock on the youth models had some type of spacers that could be added or removed to adjust LOP?  I didn't see anything when I completely disassembled it for a deep cleaning.  The recoil pad is just a thin, very firm rubber pad.  The Seller didn't know much about the gun so there was no help there.  Anyway, here's the newest family member.  Time to start researching chokes and loads.

Thats a good looking gun, I would recommend a sumtoy choke

Looks to be the Sportsman youth model, very nice find.  I have the full size model with 26" barrel and LOVE it.  Mine shoots very well with Hevi Shot and a .555 Indian Creek.  Sumtoy makes a great choke tube and seems to shoot very good with Fed HWT 7's.

Just measured the LOP on my son's 1187 Compact 20 and it is 13".  I put a slip-on Sims pad on it when I shoot it to get the LOP close to what I like.  My son shoots the Fed HW 7s out of a Hasting .562 and will get 140+ in the 10.

Thanks everybody.  I have a Sims recoil pad on order for me to use when setting it up.  Since this appears to be a youth model gun and have the youth stock... it's not the same stock as what I found on the Remington website:

http://www.remington.com/products/accessories/gun-parts/adjustable-length-of-pull/adjustable-length-of-pull-system.aspx

Does anybody know if this "adjustable LOP system" came out later than just a shortened youth stock or if there are 2 different types of youth stocks offered still?  I'm a bit confused.  Even the recoil pad on my gun doesn't match the one shown on the rem website.
