I found out this morning that my Dad has about two weeks to live. He was diagnosed with myelofibrosis syndrome about three years ago. At the time, the Doctor figured he would live for four years, or so. He is 86 years old. His move to Hospice Care will probably be on Wednesday.
He had trouble breathing, so they did a CT scan and found a blood clot in a lung. They gave him thinners to dissolve the clot, but the dye from the CT scan shut down his kidneys. It has been one thing after another for the last six months. It comes as no surprise, but the finality that was handed down this morning is a real crusher.
I pray that God takes him before anymore pain can invade his rattled body. He is a great Christian man who has a loving family. He knows this.
Thanks for thinking of me, my Father, and our family.
Mike
