Turkey Trot

I test mine sitting down too.  Most turkey shots are made while sitting.

Here's a fact for you: switching the gun from one shoulder to another with multiple birds in range, let alone multiple birds at point blank range is a low percentage move 100% of the time.

Again, you have all the answers but no facts.  When did I say I moved while they were at point blank range?  I never stated the range. Not sure why you want to turn this into an argument.

Noone is born a turkey pro (even those that truly are pros at it). They all were green as a gourd at one time or another and rushed shots, yanked triggers and made mistakes in the heat of the moment. The good hunters learned from their mistakes. They also still miss (or eventually will) once in a while whether they want to admit it or not. Birds duck at inopportune times, shots are taken off balance at bad angles that seemed to start out perfect and eyes and reflexes just get old. I wish I could can all this energy around here that is blowing off just before turkey season.

I can appreciate the perspective on chokes but we disagree fundamentally. Ill take a clean miss with an ultra-tight pattern over crippling with a 20-30" pattern any day.

No, What you are really saying is you will take a miss with an ultra tight pattern than a kill with a 20" pattern any day. A lethal pattern is still lethal be it 10" or 25". The OP is not talking about spraying shot, he is talking about having a larger patterned and centered LETHAL pattern at his preffered ranges. He's not trying to extend his range just be a more effective hunter.  Density beyond absolutely lethal is wasted shot.fwiw

That is why I sit on the Niff T Seat, it swivels. Best seat for sitting without a blind. Use it predator hunting as well for the same reason, as you can move slow enough to your target & not attract attention. You end up with 360' shooting window IF done right.

The video is worth watching IF you are indeed looking for a great tool to improve your blindless hunting this season.

Remember when dialing in your gun turkeys do not always stand still for the shot.  Often times they can be moving.  If your gun is tight this can be a challenge to hit your target.

I remember one bird that just appeared following a hen through the woods at my 3 O'clock.  Bad angle for a right handed shooter.  I had to switch to left handed. Ended up missing that bird trying to track him left handed and him not stopping due to being locked in with his hen.

Everything does not play out like the pattern board sets it up to be.

Good luck this season.
I am going to bag my first Turkey this spring if it is the last thing I do!

Missed one at about 5 yards last year and sure wish I was shooting an open cylinder choke...

Just the way it goes sometimes.  You are right though, 99% of my shots are under 35yds and I shoot WAAAAAAAAYYYYY more at 25 yds than I do 45 yards.
