Kentucky Fall Hen
October 26, 2013, 03:05:58 PM
Great morning for turkey hunting. Nice and cool and the birds were talkative. Fellow down the ridge killed a gobbler right after fly down. About an hour and a half later I slipped up on a group of hens and called them in. This one gave me a clear shot from the rest of the group so I took her at 20ish yards with the old 870 pushing Winchester #4s. Headed back out in the morning to try and fill my other gun tag.

Went to another property this morning, no acorns, no beech nuts = no turkeys, or deer. Will have to wait till December to try and fill my other gun tag.
