I was hunting with a buddy of mine who is a much more seasoned turkey hunter than myself. We got to where we were going to set up on the edge of the field. I blew my owl call and...nothing. He said let me try mine. He did an amazing owl call with just his mouth and BOOM. The bird went crazy. We finally located him in the tree several hundred yards away. He was in a tree in a strip of woods that seperated us from another field. He was originally facing the field on the other side of the treeline but we watched him turn around in the tree and face out direction. We had a Tom and Hen decoy out. After watching him for a few minutes and my buddy calling a little, we watched him fly out of the tree and land 50 yards from us. He wouldn't commit and was getting nervous so I pulled the trigger (luckily for me, my buddy had already tagged out for the year). His other middle toenail was broken off. Like I said, my buddy has turkey hunted alot more than me and along the Roanoke River which is wrapped up with birds. He had never seen spurs like this bird had. It was an awesome hunt and one that I will never forget.
I haven't been on here in a year or two but some of you might remember some pics and videos that I posted of some solid white/albino turkey a couple of years back. This was in the same town but probably 10-15 miles away. Unfortunately, those albinos dissappeared right before the season started and I never saw them again.
