what does everyone think?  would some differant chokes make a real differance? Polishing?
40 yards lazered    70 degrees.

                                                   and 3" fed hw  1 5/8 oz.  141 in the 10"  (189 in 11"x11" sguare)
20 Rem 21" barrel rsf  with fed hw 3" 7's          160 in the 10"

Those are good patterns, I wouldn't change anything . Polishing the barrels will increase your pellet count. I have polished 5 barrels  and everyone of them increased the number of hits in the 10" circle.

You have really good numbers for hunting purposes if the patterns are acceptable. I would not go off into spending the money on more chokes that requires more expensive shells to shoot ,etc.

I would check out H-13 # 6or #7 in the 2 oz. and possibly the H-13 in #7s instead so that you give yourself more input on other shells in case they get harder to purchase.

different chokes will make all the difference in the world, same gun, clean barrel, dirty barrel
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I think you can do better with a 3.5 inch shell but you are fine where you are.  No guarantee you will do significantly better trying different chokes.

Those are pretty good patterns but I would think they could do better.  I have just a plain old 870 with 28" barrel with a Truglo SSX choke that shoots 210 in  10" CIRCLE AT 40yrds using 3" mag blends.  The gun has been deep cleaned but not polished yet.  A good cleaning should help some.

You may get a little better numbers with 3-1/2in, but in some cases you don't.  For example my Moss 535 will consistently put up 230-250 hits with 3in 2oz #7's, and 200-220 with 3-1/2in 2-1/4oz #7's.
