I have been lucky to get a garden in this year. It is a 40 foot by 70 foot garden and it is loaded this year. I have rows running the 40 foot length. I have great soil in the garden. According to the soil sample, it only needed 1.5 pounds of Nitrogen and 75 pounds of lime. I have a row of white potatoes and a row of reds. They are doing awesome. The are already the size of a tennis ball and I am just waiting till they die back to harvest. I have 17 bell peppers and they are starting to flower. My yellow and red onions are doing great and are already the size of golf balls. I have 26 squash plants growing. I began harvesting them Sunday and have put in 4 days harvesting so far. The total after 4 days is 69 squash. My cantaloupe and water melons are beginning to come along now. I also have zucchini planted (12 plants) and they are beginning to come off. My tomatoes are beginning to put on now. I have 6 marble sized green maters. I planted cucumbers and they are taking off now. Cant wait to can some pickles. I have 5 rows of Purple hull peas that are doing great. My pole beans are not so great, but I think it is just cuz I used Walmart seeds. I have 3 rows of sweet corn that are beginning to put out tassels and silk. I cant wait to start harvesting the rest of the garden. We have been eating squash many different ways. The wife is begging for fried green maters next.

Next year I will expand the garden to produce enough to take to market and sell. This year the squash I produced have almost paid for the seed, chemicals, and gas.

That's a beautiful garden! Home grown vegetables, it doesn't get any better than that.

I'm jealous. Here in Mi. we are lucky if we can plant before Memorial day. My pickles, squash, corn, beans, and okra are only an inch tall at most right now.Tomatoes and peppers are about 5 or 6 inches. Your garden looks great. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Great lookin' garden!
Way behind here in VA. I'd normally be getting my first tomato in about a week but because of the long cool spring I'll be lucky to get a mater by august!
