To see savage produce a line of dedicated turkey shotguns. I am in love with their rifles and I would like to see what they could do with today's 10, 12, and 20 gauge madness. Anyone have any pull with this?

I am looking into purchasing on of their 20 gauge slug guns, but I would have no interest in a bolt action turkey gun.

Make mine a single, pump, or auto personally.

They did of course produce a series of 12 gauge bolt action turkey guns in both black and camo but they did not sell enough to justify continuing production. There are still some of them out there I'm sure.

Their current production bolt action slug guns serve as the basis for many still target shotguns. There are folks out there who do conversions on them and replace the slug barrels with shotgun barrels with screw-in chokes.

I'm talking about an auto or a pump of course

The bolt action makes sense for those that would mount an optical sight. What could Savage offer that established brands don't?

If its anything like there present day firearms.... Quality

ATK is in the process of purchasing Savage arms, so who know what kinds of changes they may make to that company.

Thanks,

I bought one of the Savage 220 slug guns and let me tell you, it is a tack driver.  Savage recomended the Federal loads with the Barnes bullets.  Federal and Barnes no longer produce that round.  Federal has their own line called the Trophy Copper 3" which is what I shoot.  They are some very accurate loads.  My gun shoots a 3 shot 2" group at 100 yards.
