I'm thinking of buying a Ithaca Turkeyslayer.  I've heard they are really good guns and throw some good patterns.  Right now I'm using a Browning BPS NWTF and have no intention of letting it go but those Ithaca's are some sweet looking guns.  Any opinions or info would be appreciated.

i have one that was made in kings ferry ny and it is a great gun.mine was factory dipped in realtree advantage timber and has a factory ported barrel.i installed a pure gold .670 choke tube and put 197 in a 10" circle at lasered 40 yds using hv 3" magnum blends....i wouldn't trade it for any other turkey gun out there.i hear that the ohio guns are just as good and they are a great company to work with.

Are you just wanting a new turkey shotgun?  That BPS is a great gun and I doubt the Ithaca will do any better?  Personally, if I had some money to burn on a new turkey gun, I would look into a 20 ga.  They are lighter, handle nice and dont recoil like that BPS will.

I recently bought a 20 ga BPS for my daughter that is now my favorite little gun.  I get an average of 180 with Hevi13 #7's and my shoulder really appreciates it.

Now if you were going to buy a new Deerslayer...I would say without a doubt get an Ithaca.  My buddy just bought one in 12 and it shot every slug load he tested in it amazingly well.   I am actually saving for one now after seeing what his does.  The Ithaca is a beautiful gun, perfect fit and finish and smooth as glass.

So, I guess I am saying if you just want another turkey gun, go for it...but if you want to try something different, you may want to look at a 20

I have four dedicated turkey guns.  A BPS, 12 gauge, 31/2", a NEF 10 gauge, and two Ithaca Model 37s.  In 1984, I had one of the 37's modified by having the barrel cut to 25" and sleeved to .665 by Mark Bansner.  The other Ithaca Model 37 is a King Ferry Turkeyslayer which sports worn Realtree Advantage camo and an IC .660 choke tube.  The Turkeyslayer will put an average 206, H-13, 6's in 10", and 248, 7's in 10" in a polished barrel.  The Ithaca Model 37 is IMO the greatest/lightest 12 gauge "Run and Gun" turkey gun ever made, and I would advise you to obtain one asap.  PM me if you have any questions or want any info on 37's, I've got seven of them.

I own a newer Turkeyslayer from the Ohio group. It is a tremendous gun. Lightweight, smooth action, great camo, etc. I average 225 or so with hevi 7s. It is by far my favorite shotgun that I own. I wouldn't trade it for any other. I can give u more info if you PM

Great info guys....good to see there are some other Kings Ferry guns out there.  Mine is a 97 and recently dipped in Mathews Lost Camo.  I haven't had time to pattern much...I have the factory .670 choke and a Wrights .660.  I haven't had time to get Hevi 13  6's or 7's or Mag Blends patterned...I've tried some lead but not impressed.  Season got here and had to go to tried and true gun/choke combo...hopefully I'll get some more patterning time soon...she looks pretty lonely in the safe.

I'm a huge fan of Ithaca, in my opinion its the best pump gun out there. You would do well to own one.
