How to Handle Windy Days

Very odd day yesterday.

There was a storm front coming in and with it very high winds.  Very uncommon for this part of the country.  My question is where do Pine timber birds disappear to when its extremely windy?

I know in Midwestern states, its always windy, but not here in the south.

The issue was not calls.  I know how to cut through the wind, but where do they typically hang out in the wind.

In windy conditions a lot of times I  find em on the sides of hills to break the wind, and theyll often move from the high ground to bottoms. I've also seen em hang out in the middle of a wide open field when it gets windy. They're just like us. If you're in the top of a ridge in 20 mph wind you can't hear nothin but the wind whippin, but you get off to to the opposite side of the hill it gives you a break from the wind and you can hear better. Same goes for turkeys.
