I'm getting ready to go buy some new turkey shells for my 835 Tactical Turkey tonight but I have a question. I was thinking of buying the Federal Heavyweights but I am shooting an Indian Creek choke tube. Just saw on their website it says not to shoot the Flitecontrol wads through them but I've read quite a few peoples posts using this combo. So just wondering if it's safe or not. If not then I guess I'll buy the Hevi 13's or Magnum Blends. Thanks

If there websites suggests not to then I would say no I would not try it.  The only Indian creek choke that I have ever heard of cracking or busting was from shooting federal flight control wads through it.  I would also think if you shoot them when it says not to that it would just void the warranty on them.

Some folks are using them in the 20 gauge loads, I would not recommend them in the 12 gauge though.

You might split your choke with those shells, would use hevi 13 #7's if I were you.

I just wound up buying the 3" Hevi Shot Magnum Blends. That is all my Bass Pro had in stock.

Magnum Blends are good shells.  They will hit hard and fast.

DO NOT shoot any Flight Control equipped shell through an Indian Creek choke.    I learned this the hard way back in 2011 about a week before the season began.    Indian Creeks website cautioned against shooting Federal Heavyweight shells with the FC wad.   It made no mention of Federal lead shells with the FCW.    I thought I was OK, but couldnt have been more wrong.   My Indian Creek choke lasted exactly 4 FCW shells before it split.

I called Stuart at Indian Creek and explained what happened.    He told me to avoid any FCW shell when using the Indian Creek choke.   He commented the FCW wad is significantly thicker than a normal wad, and does not compress much at all.   Stuart sent me a new replacement choke no questions asked, so at least I wasn't out $75.
