Just curious what everyone uses for seperating the reeds on their mouth calls?

Paper clips?

Toothpicks?

Commercial seperators?

I use the primos ones. I usually wash them put in the reed seperators and after they dry sprinkle them with talcum powder.

I spray them with diaphresh and put them away.  Every separator I've ever used ended up sticking and ripping the latex eventually.

I use paperclips bent to shape.  Usually put a loop on each side.

To keep from ripping the latex, I put it in my mouth for a bit until the get all slobbery then take the paper clip out.  Does using thin plastic coated paper clips stretch the latex over time?

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

I took some plastic vanes that I had left over from building some arrows, and cut them to shape and used them. They work great...

I use the green thingies from Starbucks that keep your coffee from spilling. They are tapered and have a wide bulge at the end. Work great.

Toothpicks broken in half for me, usually wet the reeds before removing it.  Plastic fork teeth is a great idea though, will keep that in mind.
