On an aluminum pot, how thin can the aluminum be if you were going to make your own, (sentimental reasons, like wood from family property) and you had an infinite supply of an aluminum alloy that was about .060 thick. Strength wise it would hold up due to the metelurgical properties, but idk if the thinness would prevent it from sounding right. I suppose glass could be added to make up the difference, but don't want to have to figure that out.
