Remington 11-87 Turkey Gun choke question

I was wondering if the general rule of thumb with a short barrell gun is to have a tighter restriction for the choke tube.  I have tried a Jellyhead 665 and 660 and both are a little too open for what I am used to.  Was wondering if a .655 Kicks would be any better or too much.  Both of these chokes were too open using various Hevi shots, mag blends and Nitros.  However, I can put either one of these chokes on my 28" 870 and they are great.  So I am figuring it has to be the barrell length.

I have a new 11-87 with a 23in barrel.  What I can tell you in my limited experience with this barrel length - The factory Wingmaster HD choke is good with Mag Blend. The Ventilator seems about the same.  But... I'm going to try a JH .660 (tighter) next week because I'm changing up everything and going to start using Hevi 3.5, #7 ( no more mag blend)   And yes, 26in barrel is another story.. I also have another 11-87 with 26in and it has different results.

I wouldn't rule out the Indian Creek 3665 or the Hevi Shot brand .662.

So it is ok to shoot hevi shot or nitros thru the HD choke tube?  I wasnt sure.  What is the diameter on that Wingmaster HD tube?  Mine doesnt have it on it.

they don't list it on the HD... I think someone recently said in another post is was around .670
