Does anyone else shoot Kent diamond shot?. i shoot 3 1/2'' 2 1/4oz. #6's and i love them

Ive used the 3" 1 1/4 #6 in my 20 gauge.They are adequate,nothing really eye-popping but absolutely would not be scared to shoot them,especially at the price they are(or were)

I have also shot them through my 20ga,they would probably do the job,but they don't set the world on fire with any of my chokes

I've been using Kent's 3.5 2 1/4 #6's for several years now, seem to me they shoot alot like the old federal premium before the flight control came out. Awesome shell with great patterns in my turkey guns.

i have on older baikal russian made auto with a .663 colonial arms ported choke that performs awesome with these kents. reminds me alot of the old federal premiums before they changed to flight control wads. my dad uses them in his 1st gen 835 with a .675 star dot choke. i also have a mossberg 535 with 20" bl and a .660 star dot that shoots them very well.

I've shot the Kent 3 1/2 #4s and #6s in my remington 870.  I push the #6s through a kicks .655 an the #4s through a .665 kicks.

I pretty sure the IC will out perform the JH. The IC loves lead. I got a few others loads to try win 3 1/2 double x #6, win supreme 3 1/2 # 4, and hevi 3" # 6

One more thing I might add with Kent Diamond Shot #6's, they are better compared to a #5 because of their oversized #6's. .115" to be precise is about the average I have seen from Kent #6's. I have some Kent #5's that I opened, and measured the same .115". I guess with the SAMMI standards of 6% + or -, you can use an undersized #5 as an oversized #6 and put the same shot in two different labled shells. 2oz's of #6 shot should be around 450 pellets, 2oz's of their #6's had only 388, which is more comparable in size and pellet count of 2oz's of #5 lead, which should have a pellet count of 340avg. So, that being said, #5 shot shooters will love the comparison's with #5's, but #6 shot shooters will not be impressed when comparing to other #6 lead loads. Does not affect the killing abality at all, I have killed several birds with these shells.

last season my biggest gobbler ever fell to a Marlin 120 ,Colonial Arms 665 choke, 12g 3in Kent diamond #6 , shot at 38 yd ,  after many trips to the 40 yd range the Kent and std Fed 3in #6 were almost even , though the Kent had less shot as I have just read here on this post ! IF i were looking for numbers I would stay with the 3in Fed hvw 7s or better yet mag blend , but I want a good cheaper lead load and the Kent diamonds get the nod .

I gave Kent Diamond Shot Turkey loads a fair shake, but they are consistently poor performers in my 20" barreled Mossberg 535.      I shot the 3.5" shells with 2.25 ounces of #6 shot through numerous chokes.      30 yard patterns were awesome with 250+ hits in a 10" circle.   40 yard patterns sucked with pellet counts frequently below 80.

If you could absolutely limit yourself to 30 yard shots, Kent Diamond Shot loads would be perfectly acceptable.    I frequently hunt cut corn fields for Mr.Gobbles , so I like having an added insurance policy offered by better performing shells.

I honestly think Kent could tighten their patterns significantly by simply buffering their shot.    Also, recoil from these shells are brutal.    Perhaps a drop to 1150 to 1200 fps, and substituting 1/4 ounce of shot could produce a tighter pattern with a bit less recoil.

I got a box of 3 in. 5's at 1310fps. going to try them in my New England 3.5 turkey gun full choke, 10 shells for $8 bucks,been shooting Heavyweight 7's,at 8 a shell, hope they throw a good killing pattern,
