I'm gonna give my mossberg 500 a facelift this season. I'm def gonna put a rear pistol grip and adjustable butt stock on it. I may put a new choke in it but not sure which. What other accessories would you add.

Can't go wrong with a GOOD choke. I prefer SumToy personally, but Pure Gold, Indian Creek, Kicks, Jellyhead, Truglo SSX are all really nice chokes that throw good patterns.

Just a fyi if you haven't shot a mossberg with a thumbhole stock or pistol grip.  That top tang safety is hard to manipulate with your hand wrapped around a grip and not the stock.  Food for thought.

I love a top tang safety, and I haven't found a better hunting configuration, for me, than just a straight stock.

my 500 loves the truglo ssx.

Pistol grip really helps control the gun and absorbs a surprising amount of recoil into your hand that doesn't reach your shoulder.  However the above poster is correct, it makes it harder to manipulate the tang safety.  For this reason I recommend putting a Brownells steel raised safety slide on the gun.  I have them on two 835's and a 500.
