I've played around with a plastic cheapo Quaker Boy a few years ago and made it sound decent but that's all the experience I have with one. I'd like to buy a nicer one made by a fellow member. Any recommendations?

Pappy and Joe (TRKYHTR) make nice ones.  I have 2 from Pappy.  I enjoy using them and practicing with them.  I got them late in the year last year so I have not hunted with one but this year, I plan on it.

In addition to Pappy and Joe, Lyle with Houndstooth makes a great tube.  I bought one from him last year and couldn't be happier!

I am in the same boat. I have a friend who uses a tube call 75% of the time and he puts a hurting on turkeys with his home made tube call. I bought one from a member, Barry, back in early fall and love it. I'm itching for spring to get here. He makes his out of old doans pill bottles and they sound awesome. He mave have a few left.  Might give him a shout.

Barry's Doan Pill tube is a killer. Matt McLain also makes a great looking and sounding tube call.

I just got off the phone with Lyle. He's a great guy to talk with. I'm gonna give one of his tube calls a try.

Good for you, you won't be disappointed!  The worst part of OldGobbler is that there are so many good good callmakers and people on here. . . . .makes for a difficult call buying decision process!
