I took my brass brush dipped it in nitro solvent and attached my cleaning rod to my drill d slowly moved it the length of the barrel several times and the followed it up by swabbing it out....does this sound right? I can't access the you tube instructions so I tried this...

Sounds about right. A lot of guys use a scotch brite pad around a smaller brass brush also.
